She wasn't on his desk and he presents himself very well. Moreover, I could really buy a story that Jane didn't really know Roger. Megan knew he was dating Faye- although it's unclear if she overheard their fight and thought they were broken up or it wasn't that serious. Megan aggressively came onto him, as part and parcel of her saying that she wants to be a copywriter. Meanwhile with Megan, there's a lot more clarity that she actively pursued a divorced Don on the rebound who, at that point, was a senior partner/millionaire which Megan certainly took note of. I think there's a moment there where Jane stops spurning Roger and falls in love with him, and it's entirely based on Roger's "kindness" and the human little moment of "Jane on Jane Street, that's a pretty picture." Then sure, Jane has an affair with Roger and is basically OK with him leaving his family for her- but she didn't chase him and it seems like she fell in love before that. THEN, Jane clearly tried using feminine wiles on Roger but it was to get her little secretarial job back. Meanwhile, Roger was super-rich and he constantly hit on Jane and she spurned his advances until Joan fired her. S1-2 Don is upper-middle class, but he doesn't become super-rich until the PPL deal at the end of the season. He was married- so it'd be hard to pry him from a wife. She didn't have designs to get a career out of him. ![]() However, her interest was basically entirely that Don's very handsome and sexy. Jane had a crush on a married Don, though she took a keen interest in his separation from Betty. I have an UO that Megan was more of a purposeful gold-digger than Jane.
